This is really quite remarkable. What started with a post on reddit linking to the video of Helen Thomas hammering Dana Perino on the Bush administration's torture history, evolved into a self post on reddit where the community spontaneously decided to thank Thomas.
And within a couple days, redditors raised $4,100 for flowers and various other tokens of appreciation. They even setup a wiki to keep track of it all. Now the flowers have already started pouring in and we at team reddit are sending over a bobblehead with signed note.
Not to be outdone, the alien also wanted to send her some flowers, hence today's logo.
